City Year Alumni Website Re-launched!

City Year is excited to announce the re-launch of our Alumni Website! The site went live last Friday, August 19, 2011. What’s new about the site? It has a fresh look with upgraded features and a brand new Online Career Center. The goal of this online network is to keep alumni connected to City Year, the Alumni Association, and each other as well as support their careers, education, and leadership path.

Joining the new website is free and available to the full City Year community including corps members, alumni, current staff and staff alums from across the country. More than 125 alumni joined in the first hour of the re-launch. To join the alumni website, visit http://alumni.cityyear.org/ and click JOIN NOW

Seattle Alumni Board Co-Chair, Kendall Morgan

Here in Seattle, two of our alumni, Kendall Morgan and Anna Saradeth serve as Alumni Board Co-chairs for 2011-12. With the help of Kendall and Anna, our site looks forward to another year of connecting alumni through social media and events, and supporting them in their life after City Year.

Check out the Top 5 reasons to be excited about joining the NEW Alumni Website:

1. Access exclusive benefits available to alumni such as give a year Partnerships

As a graduate of City Year, you have access to many benefits including partnerships with leading colleges and graduate schools who offer scholarships to alumni, prioritized applicant status for Peace Corps and teacher acceleration programs, discount off Kaplan Test Prep services and Zipcar, and much more.

2. Create your own Facebook-like profile

You can maintain an individual profile by updating your contact information, sharing where you are going to school or work, uploading photos, joining an alumni group, and more.

3. Connect with alumni and build your network

Once a member of the community you can add other members as connections and also search for alumni by corps year, site, geographic location, or career industry.  This is a great way to connect with fellow alums, stay in touch, and build your professional network.

4. Post your resume and search jobs from employers who want to hire alumni

Search for career opportunities with City Year and organizations that want to recruit you.

5. Stay informed and involved with City Year

Through the interactive homepage and other social media, you will always know what City Year is up to and stay inspired by the impact of our corps members and fellow alumni.
