Comcast Hosts Career Day for City Year Seattle!

Since 2001, Comcast has provided $1.8 billion in cash and in-kind support to national and local non-profit organizations across the country.

For the past 10 years Comcast has generously supported City Year as a National Leadership Sponsor. The Comcast Foundation champions corps member leadership development and training programs at all of City Year’s 23 U.S. locations. Recently City Year Seattle corps members were invited to trade their boots for loafers and flats, khaki pants for slacks and their red jackets for blazers to celebrate Comcast Career Day 2012.

The day was atypical in that corps members weren’t in Seattle’s schools addressing the drop-out crisis as mentors and tutors. Instead, corps members were invited by Comcast employees to spend the day learning skills and tools that will help to expand their goals  and increase their professional opportunities upon graduation from City Year. Under the leadership of Comcast employees, corps members participated in workshops that included resume building, professional dress, mock interviews, and professional goal setting.

Thank You, Comcast, for imparting on City Year your professional knowledge!
